THE SECOND ANNUAL CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT - JUST COME – JUST SUPPORT IT
August 19th 2017 marks the one year anniversary of the passing of my son Zachary Collin Dillehay. I’m not sure if there is supposed to be something magical that happens at that one year point, something that takes the experience of this period of time and suddenly all the shattered hearts are mended and life goes on. I just know I’ve heard that one year is a significant marker and I am not leaving to chance that it will be a beautiful momentous day. The individual experience of the grief of losing the physical presence of a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson, an uncle and a friend leaves me challenged to pick a word to sum it up, likely there isn’t one. What we all have the power to do though, in any experience, is to do our best. As that category 5 hurricane of grief blew through all of our lives over the past year, we each did our best in our individual experience of the pain. For me, Zach’s Mom, I’m going to do my best in honoring his life, the way he lived his life, and the beautiful impact he had on so many. The waves of kindness Zachary started are still rippling, proved by the outreach of those of you who experienced him and have called, written or met with me to share the stories. I’m committed to continuing those waves and ripples of kindness in his honor. So August 19th 2017 will be the day that many will gather in his honor for the Second Annual Cornhole Tournament. This will be a fundraising event for the Place of Possibility whose mission was birthed with and through the love shared with a very special person, my son Zach. There are many ways to show your support for our Mission and Intention! Mission Statement: Tapping into what is possible for mankind through our core values of Kindness, Generosity, Integrity, Faith, Trust, and Belief. Declaration: To be the largest, most impactful non-profit organization in the history of mankind through action taken in alignment with our mission statement.
